On top of this............

You might ask what other things that is going on with us... we actually decided to built our dream home in Tarneit. We have been looking for a place to buy got the last 3 months. Why pay for someone else's home loan than to pay for you home that is really your. The initial plan was to find a house nearer to my workplace in Geelong. We inspected a few properties over there and were quite happy to commit to a house in Geelong. However, after a long hard discussion it was felt that if living in Geelong doesn't suit our need. Firstly, by living in Geelong, we would be limiting our future job opportunities to Geelong and we felt that Geelong is faraway from civilisation.

I approach Edwen to see if he has any good property around Tarneit. He took us to the showroom and immediately we felt that the size of the house suits our requirement. We selected a plot of land at "The Reserve" in Tarneit as we were told that settlement is due pretty soon. Settlement of land is due in a weeks time and building should commence in early January. And I was told that we would be able to move in by April or May. We made application for bank loan through a broker recommended by Edwen. Soon enough we hit roadblocks ...........At the time we applied for bank loan, the financial crisis hit the Australian market...banks were more conservative in their application. I virtually give them every available information pertaining to my financial position to the bank....Then my home valuation by the bank came in 10k short....one week before settlement...........Both of us were feeling the stress by now........how are we going to find 10k?.........Fortunately with some help from mates and mum we manage to pull it through..phew....................We finally have ownership of the land a week before Christmas. So now the journey begin

Looks like I would be spending a lot of my weekend checking the progress of contruction. Exciting times ahead........

The Sign of life - Week 11

Took a day off from work today to bring Susan out for her first ultrasound. Susan and myself were rather excited about the prospect of seeing our baby for the first time. Actually I guess I was the person who is more excited about it than Susan.

And here it is our baby at about 11weeks and 2 days old.... measuring about 4.3 cm .........managed to heart the baby's heartbeat as well.....awesome!!

Baby's birthdate was initially around 28th June has now been pushed back to 30th June 2009 ................Geezzzzzz............end of financial year baby. At this stage it is not possible to know the sex of the baby. Would be doing another test by the end of Jan to determine the sex of the baby that time..... if you ask me what I prefer, actually as long as the baby is healthy boy or girl is fine by me....Susan on the other hand is hoping for a boy........

There will be many more visits to the doctors between now and the end of Jan, next major visit is to the Royal Woman's Hospital on the 22nd of Dec and Ultrasound 19 Jan.

Busy time for daddy to be..........

Pass that first trimester!!

My wife has passed her first Trimester...she has been having morning sickness without fail every single day. Initially it was out of control, whatever that goes in would be coming out in less than half hour. She is taking medications now and is much much better. By the books it is said that this would only happen in the first trimester but by experience of some people this can go on till week 20. 8 more weeks to go!!!...........fingers crossed..........

Obviously with pregnancy, my wife has been eating more than her usual amount of food. Every 2 hours she would be searching for something to eat. And yes it has taken its toll on me. Everytime she eats I eat too..........hehehe ........
